Special Events at Waldemar
Spring 2007 was very busy here at Waldemar. AIGA Austin returned for another successful design retreat in April. Over 100 designers from all over the country (and Mexico!) came out for some hands on experience and fun. The weather couldn't have been better.
The next weekend, we hosted Martha Small and James Dyess’s wedding. Martha was an eight year camper and Comanche leader in 1993. Many Waldemar ex-campers were here to enjoy this celebration, which was kicked off by a lovely rehearsal dinner in the Playhouse catered by our very own chef Johnny Borrayo. The wedding took place Saturday evening in Tejas Chapel with the reception following in Doris Johnson Lodge. It was a grand affair enjoyed by all.
“Cinco de Mayo” weekend, we celebrated Tommy Leman and Malorie Gist’s wedding. Tommy’s family has been vacationing in the Hunt area for many years. Their rehearsal dinner was held at Crider’s, an outdoor dance pavilion in Hunt. Saturday afternoon the couple’s wedding took place at the Notre Dame Catholic Church in Kerrville. The reception followed in Tejas Chapel.
