Waldemar Women's Week at A Glance

Waldemar Women's Week was a huge success! It was the 27th year and it may have beaten all others! "The Secret Lies Within Us" could mean a lot of things, but basically the secret was unveiled at the end of the week ... and WHAWSAW!

If the ladies weren't taking a craft class they were riding a horse, a kayak, or having a spa treatment by DAY ... at night they had theme parties to dress up for such as:

Tuesday: "Let's Get Physical"

Wednesday: "Can You See me Now?" This evening was dedicated to an original camper of WWW, Sallly Shipman! Sally was one of the most positive, energetic, and vital people we ever got to be around. Her life was celebrated in a big way this night, by many of her friends and her family with a slide show, and songs and dances written just for her.

Thursday: "My Friends and I" performed "Everything I Need to Know, I Learned at Waldemar Women's Week!" Judy, Jane, and Neva have been performing for WWW for over 20 years. Their cleverly written songs and dances make you feel happy, make you feel somewhat "normal", make you feel like you're a part of something great ... they just make you feel good down to your toes (from your thighs that is)!

Friday: TEX-MEX on the Border with Clifton Jansky as our entertainer of the night, singing good old fashioned Western tunes while playing his guitar, and ending the evening singing "Amazing Grace" under the full moon! It was so beautiful! He said it was one of the most fun evenings of his career, and he had to ask God for some help in performing for this bunch of women at first. His answer came to him ... "just let them think they are in control, let them lead!" ... are you starting to get the secret of a happy woman yet?

Saturday: "Waldy Wonka and hte Chocolate Factory" complete with a chocolate fountain to cover the ridiculous amount of fruit and cookies!

Johnny and his staff was truly amazing, as usual!

George Anne and her staff were exceptional as well! GA thanks all who volunteered their time and efforts to make the week so great. We touched a lot of lives, rejuvenated a lot of bodies, warmed a lot of hearts.

We continue to pray for others who had some bumps in the road over the week.

God Bless You All!

Waldemar Women's Week 2008 will be held September 23-28, 2008. Hope to see you all there!
